Big system changes, kept simple and on track
Independent IT consulting and ERP project management, backed by IT leadership experience at CTO and CIO level. We help you choose the right system, run the project on your side of the table, and get your people through go-live.
How we help
-
Technology strategy
A clear plan for your systems over the next two to three years, in order of what pays back first.
-
Systems review
An independent look at the software, data and processes you have now: what works, what's costing you and what to fix.
-
Process mapping
We map how work really flows through your business, so new systems fit the way you work.
-
Software selection
Requirements, a shortlist, scripted vendor demos and a recommendation you can defend to your board or bank.
-
Contract and vendor review
We check proposals, licences and statements of work before you sign, so scope, costs and risks are clear.
-
CIO advisory
Senior IT leadership a few days a month, at CIO and CTO level, without hiring a full-time head of IT.
-
Warehouse & WMS
Moving from paper or spreadsheets to a warehouse management system, with scanners, carrier labels and live KPIs.
-
Data & Power BI
One version of the truth: data warehouses, EDI links with trading partners, and Power BI reports people use.
-
Agile delivery
Getting IT and the business working as one team, with work prioritised by business impact.
ERP project management: your side of the table
Vendors are experts in their software. You need someone who is an expert in delivering the project for your business: keeping scope, budget and timeline honest, and making sure the business is ready on day one.
- One plan, owned by you. A single plan and risk log covering your team, the vendor and any integrations.
- Scope kept in check. Change requests are costed and agreed, not slipped in.
- Data you can trust. Cleansing, mapping and trial migrations well before cutover.
- People ready. Testing with real scenarios and training planned around your busy periods.
- Plain reporting. A one-page status every week: what's done, what's next, what needs a decision.
Six stages to a calm go-live
-
Readiness
Goals, budget, team and the processes in scope agreed before any software is chosen.
-
Selection
Requirements, vendor shortlist, scripted demos and reference checks, then a recommendation.
-
Plan
A realistic plan, budget, risk log and governance, with clear owners on both sides.
-
Build & migrate
We run the project with the vendor: configuration, integrations, data cleansing and migration.
-
Test & train
User acceptance testing against your real scenarios, and training planned around your busy times.
-
Go-live & hypercare
A rehearsed cutover, then close support until the new system is business as usual.

Consulting questions
Are you tied to a software vendor?
No. We're independent, so our recommendation is based only on what fits your business.
What kind of ERP projects have you run?
Selections, upgrades of long-running systems, moves to the cloud, and warehouse management roll-outs, in distribution, food manufacturing and retail. The method matters more than the software brand.
We've already chosen a system. Can you still help?
Yes. Many clients bring us in once a vendor is chosen, to run the project on their side, keep the vendor to scope and get the business ready for go-live.
Our ERP project is in trouble. Can you step in?
Yes. We start with a short health check of the plan, budget, scope and data, then agree a recovery plan with you and the vendor.
How long does an ERP project take?
A selection usually takes six to ten weeks. Implementation for a small or mid-sized business typically runs three to twelve months, depending on scope, data and integrations.
